1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using quickhex (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site. We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version at this URL; continued use of the Site after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. You are responsible for reviewing this page periodically.
2. Description of the service
quickhex provides free, client-side tools for converting between hexadecimal and other numeral systems, text encodings, color formats, and developer-oriented representations (bitwise operations, checksums, and similar). All calculations run locally in your browser using JavaScript; the Site does not transmit the values you enter to any server for processing, does not require an account, and does not charge for any feature currently offered. We may add, remove, or modify any tool, feature, or piece of content on the Site at any time, without notice and without liability to you.
3. No professional advice
Nothing on the Site constitutes professional, financial, legal, medical, engineering, or safety advice of any kind. The tools are general-purpose reference calculators intended for educational and development use. Decisions with legal, financial, safety-critical, or regulatory consequences should never be based solely on output from this Site; consult a qualified professional and independently verify any figure before relying on it.
4. Your responsibility to verify results
While we make reasonable efforts to implement each calculator correctly — including testing against known reference values and standard test vectors where applicable — we do not guarantee that any result produced by the Site is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose.Software has bugs. Browsers, devices, and locales can behave inconsistently. Standards, code pages, and color palettes referenced by these tools (including but not limited to CP037 EBCDIC, CRC-32, and the Tailwind CSS default palette) may change or may be implemented differently than the version we used as a reference. You are solely responsible for independently verifying any output before using it in production code, a financial calculation, a safety-critical system, published content, or any other context where an error could cause harm or loss.
5. No warranty
THE SITE AND ALL TOOLS, CONTENT, AND RESULTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that the Site will be available at all times, that it is free of viruses or other harmful components, or that any error or defect will be corrected.
6. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL QUICKHEX, ITS OPERATOR, OR ANY AFFILIATED PARTY BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising out of or related to your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Site or any result it produces, regardless of the legal theory asserted (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise), even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent any liability is not permitted to be excluded under applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Site is limited to the amount, if any, you paid us to use the Site in the twelve months preceding the claim — which, since the Site is provided free of charge, is zero. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you, in which case our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless quickhex and its operator from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right.
8. Intellectual property and trademarks
The Site's own design, code, and original written content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Third-party names, trademarks, standards, and specifications referenced on the Site (including but not limited to Tailwind CSS, C#, Java, AWK, and UIColor/Apple) remain the property of their respective owners and are used solely in a descriptive, nominative sense to identify the format or technology a given tool relates to. See ourLegal & Trademark Disclaimer for full details and a contact for trademark-related concerns.
9. Third-party links and references
The Site may reference or link to third-party standards, documentation, or resources for informational purposes. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any third-party resource, and inclusion of a reference does not imply endorsement by, or affiliation with, the linked party.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site to violate any applicable law; to attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its infrastructure; to scrape or systematically extract content at a scale that degrades the Site's availability for other users; or to misrepresent your affiliation with quickhex, including by claiming an official partnership that does not exist.
11. No account, no stored personal data
The Site does not require registration and does not knowingly collect the values you type into any calculator. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what limited technical data, if any, is processed when you visit the Site, and our Cookie Policy for exactly what is stored in your browser and how to change your consent choice at any time.
12. Termination and availability
We may suspend, discontinue, or restrict access to the Site or any part of it, at any time, for any reason, without notice and without liability. These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the Site, and the disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification obligations above survive any termination or discontinuation of the Site.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms remain in full force and effect.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's jurisdiction of residence, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent mandatory consumer-protection law in your own jurisdiction provides otherwise and cannot be waived by agreement.
15. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to the contact address listed on ourLegal & Trademark Disclaimer page.
